I know I take Saturdays off from blogging, but there’s been a state of emergency over here at For the Love of Food.
My camera has been naughty lately—it refuses to focus.
First I tried giving it some Adderall, but it didn’t help much.
So then, I decided to give it a little spanking. Unfortunately, firmly patting a camera doesn’t quite have the same discipline effect it does on say, children or puppies. Upon contact with my palm, I seemed to have broken the lens. Apparently, striking something with force only truly works on broken TVs (seriously, it does!)
Anyway, I need a camera for my job and for this here blog so off to Best Buy I went to spend money I didn’t have on something I desperately need. Here’s what I got:
Yeah, definitely not in my budget, but I’m calling it an early birthday present. In fact, I very sheeply asked my parents to pitch in for it in exchange for a hug and a kiss come February (birthday month.)
I love it. I can finally take pictures of food and post them to here without looking like a complete amateur. Just wait until you see next week’s posts’ pictures taken with this beauty. You’ll die.

I saw on your blog he got you a camera (your last post, I think?). Didn’t know it was the same one! I was so jealous when I found out you got a DSLR. Glad you love it. It got great reviews and was on sale that couldn’t be beat! Can’t waaaiiit to take pics of food with it! 😀
